Looking north towards the kitchens with the end of the terrace on the left. The Victorian steps have now been replaced by a grass slope. The ornate stone by the top of the steps is probably the top of a tudor chimney stack which may or may not have come from the castle. [This stone is now in the museums' collections]
A postcard of the kitchen area at Pontefract Castle, showing steps leading to the terrace.
